What’s good everyone.
ICYMI: Go read yesterday’s interview with Joey Scalabrino, owner of Apollo Bagels.
I have been experimenting with new forms of content, and asking you all what would have the most impact.
It’s easy to stay on the tracks and let monotony take the wheel, but I want this newsletter to find new forms of expression, and keep things interesting.
Yesterday’s experiment was audio, which for now I’m calling Who Do You Know? Radio.
Today’s newsletter began as a notes app draft hastily typed after leaving the steam room one morning.
As I began to put the pieces together, I decided to experiment again— with video.
Today’s video is my musings on the most impactful take from the 1977 Apple Marketing Philosophy: Presentation Matters.
Their CEO at the time, Mike Markkula, wrote, “People do judge a book by its cover. We may have the best product, the highest quality, the most useful software etc.; if we present them in a slipshod manner, they will be perceived as slipshod.”
This a valuable lesson for writers, designers, founders, so on and so forth. You can have the best skills or product, but if you present them poorly it’s not going to work out very well—
Let me know what you think of video newsletters like this.
