GM EVERYONE! Hope you all had an amazing week and are ready for a great weekend. Many of you reached out and said you liked my Valentine’s Day letter, so thank you! Okay let’s cut to the chase—
New York Fashion Week is here. The most hyped show of today is the Helmut Lang show. After what I’d consider a pretty muted reaction to Peter Do’s debut collection last Fall, we’ll see if he can bounce back. There are numerous parties going on this weekend if you looking to pop out on the scene. I’ll be at Jean’s tonight for the I Like You party. See ya there.
Fred Again had a surprise pop up show at Knockdown Center last night. The surprise set also featured Overmono, and I didn’t hear about this till it was too late. Some friends in the crowd said it was amazing.
Speaking of surprise shows, Kanye is ‘performing’ in Long Island tonight?? This the latest ‘listening party’ held for his forthcoming collab album ‘Vultures’ To no one’s surprise, the album still didn’t drop. I also must say this now 3 year old concept of him standing in a stadium just dancing around while the album plays is a bit tired. Separating the art from the artist here, the few clips I’ve heard are pretty mixed. This is def giving late-stage, not much left to say vibes. I find it so funny he’s doing this in Long Island. A true metaphor for being blackballed from the industry at this point.
Supreme and Margiela are apparently collaborating. Someone on Twitter said, “Bowery is about to be a bloodbath” The collab is purported to feature a box logo hoodie, maybe some red tabis, and god know’s what else. Get ready for the most annoying people you know to have a whole new wardrobe.
Tucker Carlson just interviewed Vladimir Putin. I’ve seen a few clips but I am so eager to listen to this today.
These matcha inspired New Balance look delicious. This new collab on the 991v2, designed by Daniëlle Cathari, are looking very clean. I love the ‘edible’ art direction here. I wouldn’t wear these but they’re cool.
Okay that’s all from me today. Hope you have a lovely weekend filled with plans, mystery, excitement, love, and conflict. Leaving you with this amazing James Baldwin quote I saw this morning—
