Good afternoon all. Currently in the car with the broski Tyler driving back home to the greatest city in the world: NYC. I am so excited to be back. Tonight I am going to go down to Metrograph to see one of my fav films of all time, Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. SO HYPE!!!
Since this will be the last newsletter of the year (next year’s newsletters are going to be insane) I thought it would be fun to go over some of my resolutions and favorite things from this past year. Let’s go—
2024 Resolutions
Work harder (and smarter)
Consume less caffeine (I’ve picked up a bad Celsius habit)
Try some classes at Equinox
Spend less time scrolling on my phone
Talk to more strangers
Look cooler and hotter
Always win
Favorites of the Year
Song
Modern Jam by Travis Scott. This album came out and I listened to it nonstop when driving to Toronto and this song got me so hype.
Album
Good Lies by Overmomo. I love to listen to electronic music when I run because the repetition and lack of lyrics helps me zone out. This album dropped as I was going through a massive running phase during the Summer where I’d run like 10 miles everyday in the 90 degree heat.
Film
Honestly… most of the movies I’ve seen this year kind of sucked. There are several 2023 movies I’ve wanted to see like Zone of Interest, May December, Anatomy of a Fall, Poor Things, etc. but haven’t had time. So… I’m going to give this one to Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Covenant’ which depicts the true story of a U.S. solider being rescued in Iraq by a translator. Idk… fun movie.
Book
EASILY The Shards by my favorite author Bret Easton Ellis. I love the surrealist depiction of LA in this novel. Luca Guadanino is adapting this into an HBO drama next year and I am really hoping they cast Kaia Gerber as Susan.
Restaurant
Easily my fav restaurant this year was Cervo’s in Dimes Square. I had so many good memories there and the food is fantastic. They just changed the menu and no longer have the cold spicy mussels which is sad.
Brand
Our Legacy’s eclectic, balanced, and wearable menswear selection has been my wardrobe staple this year. After being aware of the brand for years, I finally bought in this year and I wear an OL piece probably everyday.
Thing That Happened
For me, the Gwyneth Paltrow Ski trial was really fun to watch. I love Gwyneth and her looks were chic. I also love how she repped for all-time best water, Mountain Valley.
Thanks for Everything!
While this newsletter began as a small side project, I have really appreciated the consistency. It’s helped me hone in on writing, which I love to do, and makes me do more in real life so I have things to write about. Even though I find it a bit trite to be thankful as there is so much I’ve left to accomplish, I am earnestly appreciative for all of my friends and colleagues. This year changed my entire life for the better and I cannot wait for next year. I wish you all the best next year and hope you have a fun NYE, even the haters and losers!!! BYE!
