Chamberlain Coffee and 818 Tequila are Launching a Weird Collaboration. In an Instagram video posted yesterday, Emma Chamberlain and Kendall Jenner alluded to a collaboration between their respective CPG brands, Chamberlain Coffee and 818 Tequila. One might believe the collaboration would produce a new product, like a canned espresso martini with 818 tequila.
However, this is not the case, there is no new product. Essentially, 818 is simply buying ad space on a new SKU of Chamberlain coffee canned cold brew, and doing a bunch of social media promotion (I like the video). While its a little misleading, this promo route is certainly easier, it would have been incredibly more involved to launch a new product and find national distribution, but its a bit disappointing despite that.
This makes me wonder if we are going to see more collaborations that simply leverage each other’s brands and how they can be paired together, without launching a new product.
Golf bros are about to be dripped in Aime Leon Dore. The NYC based menswear brand is launching a golf line this week. The announcement video was veryyyyy on brand.
I think this move makes a ton of sense. ALD, despite being streetwear, has always had a certain preppy aesthetic, which will work well on the course. Golf has seen a tremendous spike in popularity with Gen Z over the last few years. This may be due to Gen Z’s love of the ‘old money aesthetic’
ALD peer, Kith, has also done recent collaborations with Taylor-Made. The types of bros who can afford spend $5,000 on ALD definitely are the type of bro to have their clubs on the subway (mine are in my closet collecting dust). Hopefully they do custom clubs and not just clothes. I predict Supreme will have a golf bag + clubs within the next 2 seasons.
Miu Miu and Prada are the hottest fashion brands right now. Fashion is fickle, but Miu Miu ascent to the top of the heap is remarkable. The brand has seen an 89% increase in sales, and is number one on Lyst’s brand index (their parent company Prada is number 2)
Interestingly enough, Miu Miu is not just for the girlies. Lyst reports an 89% search increase by male shoppers. Their New Balance collaboration (which I love but is priced like a Miu Miu, not a NB sneaker) was one of the hottest items last quarter. Loewe and Bottega Veneta are both #3 and #4 respectively. We are certainly still deep in the quiet luxury era.
is launching a Substack. The co-founder of Soft Services is the most recent brand founder to make their debut on the platform. We are seeing more and more founders like
and take to this platform to share long-form content. I’d love to do a breakdown on Soft Services packaging strategy and brand soon. Maybe ‘Who Do You Know?’s newest subscriber will come on for an interview…Apple’s Vision Pro is a flop. The company’s ambitious virtual reality headset hit the market about two months ago, accompanied by tons of viral videos of customers wearing the headset around SoHo, driving a Tesla, and eating brunch. But interest in the headset (it costs $3,500) has quickly evaporated. Google data shows a steep dive in search volume.
Now Apple is reportedly slashing production amidst new estimates they’ll sell about half of what they expected this year. I’ve also heard anecdotally headset is often returned to Apple. I predicted this headset would be a disaster and is a total wrong move for the brand at this point, as was their cancelled car. I can’t believe this Vanity Fair cover didn’t convince consumers they needed this.
Apple is going to need to supercharge their current lineup with AI related features if it wants to surge on the stock market like other Magnificent 7 stocks (Nvidia)
Charli XCX and Troye Sivan are going on tour. Club Classics and B2B have been on repeat for the last few weeks. My friends think its so funny how much I love Charli. I’ll be at the New York show. I love the promo video
HAVE A GREAT DAY AND SEE YOU TOMORROW!!!

The coffee isn’t even canned… it’s tea bags you have to soak for 24 hours. This is way too much effort
