Hello everyone happy Sunday. I am coming down from a literally perfect NYC day high. One of those days that reminds me of why I love being in the greatest city on the planet.
Shout out to Chris who I met on Friday at Friends Edition (zine is great, go buy), Jason and Karolyn, and everyone I hung out with at the How Long Gone show and afterparty last night. It was a great time, and the opener, Andy Haynes, was insanely funny.
But prior to the show, I had the chance to look at insanely rare cars, watches, art, sneakers, and other incredible finds at Sotheby’s Luxury Week. I live right by Sotheby’s so I strolled in to check it out.
Here is the full scene report—
Cars
The star of the show had to be this 1989 Lamborghini Countach, in the ‘Blanco’ colorway. If this car looks familiar that is because it was the car driven and CRASHED by Leo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street.
The amount of Bugatti’s in the building made me feel like I was on Rodeo Drive in GTA V looking for a getaway car.
I am personally partial to Porsche. This cherry red ‘94 Turbo 911 blew my mind. This was actually one of the more affordable cars in the building, asking just $525,000. If all goes according to plan, catch me driving something like this in LA 15 years from now.
This baby blue joint was hitting too.
This WIDE-BODY ‘96 AMG was one of my sleeper favorites. It is massive, looks mean, and the interior feels like I am in an Patrick Bateman style office.
Watches
Newsletter readers from a few weeks ago recall me checking out some wild watches curated by Foundwell. Sotheby’s came CORRECT. I want to become a watch collector so badly.
This emerald faces Rolex Day-Date with the BIG JEWEL and diamond encrusted numbers caught my eye.
The ‘Pepsi’ GMT Master II is a watch collector’s dream.
As Future once said, “If she ain’t got an AP, SHE IS NOT MINE” ok same.
Lastly, this dainty Cartier tank nearly blinded me. Gorgeous watch for a one lucky woman after this weekend.
Sneakers & Sports Memorabilia
When I say this collection was extensive I really meant it. For all my sneakerheads and ex-sneakerheads out there, check out the shoe collection featuring game-worn Kobe’s, unreleased Off-White’s, and the cancelled Nike Dunk ‘eBay’ collab.
In addition to sneakers, they had the ORIGINAL license plate from Phil Knight’s van in which he delivered the first Nike’s back in 1979. An incredible piece of history in the world’s largest sneaker brand.
They also had a large amount of memorabilia like MJ’s Wizards jersey.
and the last used to make Michael J. Fox’s famous Back the Future sneaker.
Birkin’s & Gems
The amount of Birkin bags in the building was truly staggering.
and this MASSSSSIVEEEEEEEE 133ct yellow diamond for a light $6m.
Overall, I was so stoked to be able to check out Sotheby’s incredible Luxury Week collection. If you’re reading this and haven’t had a chance to go yet… sorry you missed your chance.
