Does Your Kid Shop on SSENSE?
The fashion e-commerce giant continues to create viral content...
GM everyone. Hope you’re all having a lovely morning. On the way to Whole Foods last night I saw that Pop-Up Bagels, the highly sought after and well funded bagel chain, is opening a location here on the Upper East Side. It purportedly opens in May. I haven’t tried Pop-Up yet because I won’t be caught dead waiting in a line, but maybe I’ll be able to sneak in at some point.
This begs the question: is the Upper East Side the hottest neighborhood in NYC? I am seeing more praise on TikTok from people my age. We’ve got the park, museums, its clean, their is the new Diptyque store, and Bemelman’s. Going to have to explore this in depth soon.
Anyway, here is the news—
SSENSE launched a new video campaign featuring kids participating in a spelling bee wearing designer clothing. The adorable, smart, and funny new ads feature looks from Thome Browne and Rick Owens. This campaign is so well-done and I’ve got to give major kudos to the brands marketing team. Each video showcases the product, expands SSENSE’s playful brand, and is optimized to be shareable. Absolute slayyyyyy.
Carbone’s parent company is valued at over $500M. In a Bloomberg story, Jeff Zalaznick, co-owner of Major Food Group, spoke to the companies ambitions in taking Carbone and other portfolio restaurants across the globe. They’ve successfully launched Carbone locations in New York, Hong Kong, Miami, Riydah, and several other major cities. While the restaurant business is notoriously difficult, Major Food Group’s model for success (serving spicy rigatoni to A-list and wannabees) is raking in millions. The proximity to stardom is a key value proposition for the business, as the article notes the food is fine, but the chance to rub shoulders with the rich and famous is even better. Zalaznick plans on expanding the brand into members only clubs, private events, and much more, with hopes of creating an LVMH level food group.
The utilitarian iPhone case is surging. After Hailey Bieber’s Rhode phone case took the internet by storm, smaller brands are riding the ‘phone case with a purpose’ wave. I am not sure which brand this is, but I saw Andrea from Snaxshot shared this case that holds a mini fork on the back. As Spring/Summer arrives and dining poolside comes into full swing, I am sure the manufacturer is about to make a killing. I fully expect many millionaires to be made from riding this phone case trend. I am ideating on a few concepts myself, and once I figure out how to make them, its over for you all.
You no longer need a ton of employees to make millions of dollars. I saw this incredible stat on X that shows the amount of workers needed for S&P 500 companies to make a million dollars. With the prevalence of high-margin SAAS businesses and tons of efficient tools out there, creating a business and raking in profits with less is easier than ever before. No doubt, AI will be a major contributing factor in generating even more with less. If I could impart any career wisdom based on this stat, be multifaceted and be able to bring tons of diverse but harmonious skillsets to the table if you want to get a job. Or make your own.
Okay that’s all from me today! Have a great day!
